Methods

To research Toyota’s sustainability strategy, we used the case study research method. Data was primarily collected from material ESG issues, GRI Guidelines, Toyota’s Sustainability Report and shadow reports on braking and technical problems of Toyota (Barry, 2018 & Phys.org, 2018). After the closely analyzing secondary resources, we created a materiality map, and further dissected Toyota’s process of  creating shared value.
